Core Training Modules
Training programs typically break down the standard into these key areas:
Energy Review (Clause 6.3): Learning how to analyze energy use and consumption based on measurement and other data to identify areas of Significant Energy Use (SEU).
Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs) & Baselines (EnBs): Training on how to set “yardsticks” to measure whether energy performance is actually improving compared to a historical starting point.
Operational Control & Design (Clause 8): Focuses on managing energy-intensive equipment and incorporating energy efficiency into the design and procurement of new facilities or tools.
Performance Evaluation (Clause 9): Covers the monitoring, measurement, and analysis of energy performance and the effectiveness of the EnMS.
Types of Training Courses
Lead Auditor (5 Days): A professional-grade course for those who want to conduct formal audits for certification bodies.
Awareness/Foundation (1 Day): Ideal for general staff to understand the importance of energy saving and their role in the organization’s energy policy.
Implementation & Documentation (2-3 Days): Aimed at Energy Managers or “Energy Champions.” It teaches how to build an energy team, conduct a technical energy review, and document procedures.
Internal Auditor (2 Days): Teaches how to verify that the system is working as planned and complies with the standard’s requirements.
